LOVELOCK“Someone” LP Silver Vinyl
“…Out On The Streets…Looking For Someone…”
Legendary synthesis wizard Steve Moore returns with his soft rock disco alter ego Lovelock’s new album Someone. Stepping out of the time machine & jumping into your tape deck via Italians Do It Better.
“This album is inspired by sophisti-pop, yacht rock & R&B from the late 70’s & early 80’s. Not necessarily the hits though – Someone is meant to feel more like a collection of tracks from private press LPs. Crate digger gold that sounds both familiar & alien at the same time.”

Picking up where his brilliant 2012 debut Burning Feeling left off, Moore comes back with guitar driven, sax laced modern yacht rock soundscape. Imagine Christopher Cross stumbling into a smoke-filled after hours hole in the wall off the 101. Camera pans to the bar to reveal Michael McDonald & Alan Parsons red-eyed behind a few glasses of whiskey.
“Once while traveling in Italy, I bought a 2xLp collection of “Top Hits of the 80’s” – most of the songs I had never heard before, yet they all gave me a sense of familiarity as they were all undoubtedly meant to sound like songs I have heard. That’s the sort of ‘uncanny valley’ type feeling I was chasing with this album.”

As a prolific multi-instrumentalist, film composer & producer, Steve Moore uses a complex sonic pallet exploring everything left of center. Whether it’s noise rock, disco pop, minimal techno, or carrying the torch of Tangerine Dream’s electronic soundscapes, Steve Moore has done it.
His synth-heavy prog rock duo Zombi played a major role in the resurgence of interest in vintage horror film soundtracks during the 2000s and 2010s, greatly influencing the synthwave genre. Since 2015, Moore scored half a dozen films, including director Adam Wingard’s breakthrough The Guest – starring Dan Stevens. Stevens even delivers vocals for two tracks on the record. Elevating the tense drama of “What’s On My Mind” & closing the album with “End Of Time’s” dreamy disco strut.
Lovelock is where Steve draws inspiration from the 70’s & 80’s. Even the project name itself is a nod to the Italian genre film actor Ray Lovelock.
“Lovelock is an outlet to explore my more pop-oriented ideas, whether it’s disco, lounge, soft rock or whatever I try next. When I started the project in 2006, I was listening to a lot of Italo disco so it felt natural to explore those sounds”.
